When the pressurized steam or air from the production source hits the large volume plate of the separator through the pipe medium, most of the water droplets are fragmented and pulverized. Depending on the size of the pressure, the flying particles can pass through the fins and re-enter the installation.
Plate separators can be used easily at low pressures.
